Avis's Hua Hin Downtown location is the HHM branch at 15/112 Soi Hua Hin 29, off Phetkasem Road. The current Thailand location page lists a daily 08:00–17:00 counter schedule. This is a town branch, distinct from an airport pickup: select Hua Hin Downtown when requesting a vehicle and check the location shown on the confirmation before travelling to collect it. The Avis Thailand reservation system offers daily and monthly rentals, with pay-now and pay-later choices. Booking is for a vehicle group, and its terms allow a similar or better substitute if the specified group cannot be supplied. Quote the exact pickup and return dates, number of passengers, luggage and intended route rather than assuming a particular model will be waiting at the counter. Optional services include an additional driver, child seat, one-way return and pre-purchased fuel. Delivery or collection away from the station carries a distance-dependent charge and must be booked ahead; pickup outside branch hours is also an arranged, chargeable service. The current daily FAQ quotes THB 8,000 or THB 15,000 pre-authorisation by vehicle type; the monthly terms separately quote THB 20,000 or THB 40,000. Have the exact required credit limit confirmed for your rental product.
Pay now or at collection
Pay-now reservations are prepaid online. Pay-later bookings are settled in full by credit card at the counter or through the call centre. A same-name credit card is still needed for the security hold; cash or a debit card does not substitute for it.
Waivers, extras and returns
Damage waivers
CDW limits responsibility to THB 8,000 or THB 15,000 per separate incident depending on the vehicle. SCDW reduces the covered damage-waiver excess to zero, but neither covers tyres, wheels, windows, interior damage, keys, number plates, wrong fuel or towing fees.
Optional services
Additional drivers, child seats, one-way rentals and prepaid fuel can be selected where available. One-way fees may apply, and unused prepaid fuel is not refunded. Ask for the itemised total before confirming.
Beyond counter hours
Off-station delivery or collection and an out-of-hours pickup are arranged services with extra charges. Avis describes key-drop returns only at selected locations; do not assume HHM offers one without branch confirmation.
Visitor questions
Can I modify a confirmed prepaid booking?
The published terms require notice at least 24 hours before pickup through the call centre. One change is free, subject to availability and any rate difference; later changes carry a stated 20% modification charge. A moved pickup date must be within three months of the original date.
What are the published cancellation and early-return terms?
The stated prepaid terms refund 70% when cancelled at least 24 hours before pickup. Later cancellation or a no-show is not refundable, and unused time after an early return is not refunded. Check that these terms match your particular booking rate.
Do the protection products cover every situation?
No. They apply to the named driver using normal roads and complying with the agreement. Report damage immediately; impairment, flooded-road use, racing, unauthorised drivers and other breaches can void the waivers.
Can I expect free hotel delivery?
Avis’s current Thailand service page describes delivery and collection as chargeable by distance and booked ahead. Obtain HHM’s written arrangement and fee; do not treat a general international pickup-service listing as a guaranteed free delivery offer.
